How Adviser Introductions Work

FindExpatWealth is an informational and referral platform. We connect UK expats with independent, regulated financial advisers — we do not provide financial advice ourselves.

    Our Role

FindExpatWealth, part of the FindAdviser Group, operates as an informational resource and introducer service. We publish general guidance on cross-border financial topics relevant to UK nationals living abroad, including pensions, tax planning, and investments.

We are not a financial advisory firm. We do not hold authorisation from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), HMRC, or any other regulatory body to provide personalised financial advice. Our role is limited to providing general information and introducing users to independently regulated financial advisers.

The advisers we introduce operate under their own regulatory frameworks and are independently responsible for the advice they provide.

    How Adviser Matching Works

Our matching process is designed to connect you with advisers whose expertise aligns with your situation. Here is how it works:

    1. 1You complete our matching quiz — providing details about your country of residence, financial objectives, and the type of advice you are seeking.
    2. 2We identify suitable advisers — from our network of independent financial advisers who have cross-border expertise relevant to your circumstances.
    3. 3We make the introduction — you receive contact details or a direct introduction. The initial consultation is typically free and without obligation.
    4. 4You engage directly with the adviser — any advice, recommendations, or services are provided solely by the adviser under their own regulatory authorisation.

    Regulatory Differences by Jurisdiction

Financial advisers operate under different regulatory regimes depending on where they are based and where they deliver advice. Common regulatory bodies include:

    • FCA (UK) — Financial Conduct Authority. Regulates firms authorised to provide financial advice in or from the United Kingdom.
    • DFSA (Dubai) — Dubai Financial Services Authority. Regulates firms operating within the Dubai International Financial Centre.
    • MAS (Singapore) — Monetary Authority of Singapore. Regulates financial institutions and advisers in Singapore.
    • Other jurisdictions — Advisers in other countries operate under their local regulatory frameworks. The level of consumer protection may vary.

FindExpatWealth does not assess, verify, or guarantee the regulatory status of any adviser. Regulatory oversight and consumer protection are the responsibility of the relevant authority in the adviser's jurisdiction.

    User Responsibility & Verification

Before engaging with any adviser introduced through FindExpatWealth, users should:

    • Verify the adviser's regulatory status directly with the relevant authority (e.g., FCA Register, DFSA Register, MAS directory).
    • Confirm the adviser is authorised to provide advice in both their jurisdiction and yours.
    • Understand the complaints and compensation procedures available under the adviser's regulatory regime.
    • Request written confirmation of the adviser's regulatory permissions and fee structure before proceeding.

    No Advice Disclaimer

FindExpatWealth provides general information for UK expats and introduces users to independent financial advisers. We do not provide, and are not authorised to provide, regulated financial advice.

All content published on this website — including articles, guides, and country pages — is for informational purposes only and should not be interpreted as personalised financial advice, tax advice, or investment recommendations.

The advisers in our network operate under their own jurisdictional regulatory regimes. FindExpatWealth is not responsible for the advice, services, or conduct of any adviser introduced through this platform.

The value of investments can go down as well as up. You may get back less than you invest. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change in future.
